Background of
In the year 1964 the college was affiliated to
The Post-Graduate Department of the College, since 1972, has
developed a Research Wing where Post Graduate, Post Masters, Doctoral and Post
Doctoral Research works are being carried out.
Standard literature in the form of Professional Journals and Text
Books is being produced by the teachers of the college and the students working
in collaboration.
The college strives to nurture the students who
could reflect the fusion of traditional values with rational approach for
the stronger young generation having contemporary professional insight in the
field of physical education and sports sciences. College seeks to cultivate a
sense of national responsibility through its efforts to develop physical
education a base for the betterment of the future generation. The inter
dependence of sports and society, sports and healthy environment have been very
well acceptable throughout the world.

teachers, organizers, administrators and researchers in the field of physical

sportsmen/women.

facilities to educational institutions at all levels to participate in coaching

Extension Service Centre.

physical education and sports sciences.
7. To preserve and
popularize the traditional Indian physical culture and sports.
8. To co-operate with all
national, international, voluntary, professional organizations and associations concerned
with Yoga, Health, Sports, Physical
Education & Sports Sciences.

government organizations in their efforts to raise the standard of sports and

fitness of the citizens of our

publish conducive literature on physical education, health, Yoga, sports and
